Poodle Emerger
tied by  Darren MacEachern

The Poodle emerger is an interesting pattern that does a great job of mimicking an emerging insect. Use an oversized hackle (2 x the hook gape) to help with the floatation. The material for the post can be substituted for any buoyant material, but I prefer to use a light colour of s-lon so that it is easy to see on the water.

Hook:
Eagle River 7248 #12-18
